Could I stay here forever?
Please?
Just lay here.
Where you cuddle yourself in at night.
Where you slowly, fearlessly drift in to sleep.
Protected, like a mother protects its child.
Protected by the sheets.
Ones that smell of you.
Don't let me go.
Protect me.
I want to see the world I've never seen.
See the world the way you do, through your eyes.
Enlighten me.
Illuminate me, the way only you can.
Let me fall asleep with you, hold me in your loving, comforting arms.
Fearless.
Safe.
Protected in a world not meant for me.
Too fast.
Too hard.
I want to watch the sun set.
Rise.
And set again.
See the rain, the moon, the clouds, through the window by your bed.
As the stars carefully watch us,
I want to drift fearlessly into sleep next to you.
Caress me as if I were made of the thinnest glass.
For that is what I am.
Next to you
I'm just a hollow man of glass.
