(My 100th opuss! Whoop whoop!)
'can I help you.' she said sneering at Lucy.
'mmm fancy.' Lucy said picking up a small vase, inspecting it and then placing it back. 'I think you know what we are here for.' she shot back. Adams mum was beginning to look flustered from Lucy's attacks. She walked into the kitchen, I followed her indicating for Lucy to stay in the hall.
'can't you just leave my son be.' she sighed heavily. 'no' I said quietly, 'while he may be your son, he is my husband. Therefore I think you need to get over this problem you have with me, because I'm not giving up on him.' I said strongly, Amelie squeaked as if to back me up. 'ugh you're like a bad smell, just keeps coming back.' she muttered bitterly. I ground my teeth together. 'I'm not a smell.' I spat 'I'm a person, a person that you're son fell in love with, a person he married, a person that he loved so much he had a child with me.' I said emotionally, jiggling Amelie. 'I don't believe you've met your granddaughter.' I said holding Amelie out to her 'uncanny, really how much she looks like Adam isn't it.' I said, rubbing salt into the wound. 'I don't want to hold her.' she sneered, flapping her hands at Amelie. 'I wouldn't want you to.' I retorted.
'follow me.' she said and out of curiosity I did. She lead me to the window and pointed to two figures sitting huddled on a bench, the slighter figure tilted their head back revealing their face, Cathy. Her thick auburn hair framed her porcelain heart shaped face. Adam was laughing to and leaned in close to her face, he kissed her, wrapping his arms around her waist, her hands slipped up so they rested around his neck. A position so familiar to me that I temporarily stood dumbfounded. 'see Abby, he's happy, if you really loved him you'd let him go.' she sighed tiredly. 'you.' I screeched as I felt my heart break into a million pieces, each jagged piece embedding itself into me with agonizing force. I span round, pointing my finger at her, she backed away, real fear washing across her face. 'you are disgusting.' I spat, 'you're sick...I hate you.' I screamed, startling Amelie. 'don't speak to me like that ever again.' she said her voice low and dangerous. 'or what, you've taken everything from me, so what will you do... You cow' I muttered. She raised her hand high and I squeezed my eyes shut waiting for the sting of a slap to burn across my face. I opened one eye cautiously, when the pain didn't come. Adam was holding his mothers arm tightly at her wrist, she glared up at him, 'I wouldn't.' he growled at her.
