It’s a cruel world
So I’ve been told
By the ones who are supposed to know
And there is no fair
No one really shares
From the goodness of their souls
People speak
The wiser preach
The stronger use their arms
The lawyer lies
The weaker dies
And the blue skies remain calm
The sun will still rise on a bloody day
The rays will still shine down
And there are no doubts that the sun won’t stray
When more still fall to the ground
When there’s empty
It’s so tempting
To keep on wearing that smile
Swirl and twirl
It’s only the world
That’s been watching you all this while
Innocent eyes
Truth in disguise
Fingers still stained red
Graceful creator
Or royal dictator
It doesn’t matter; the path points ahead
Stars still sparkle over cities of love
As hate crimes gently rise
And stars will still twinkle in the sky above
As the leftover good is baptized
under vision’s of peace
A politician’s grease
Leaving no streaks on the surface
Beyond reason of war
Lies the scam of a whore
As she bites her nails, feeling nervous
Letters being penned
The faith of a friend
Reaching the ears of a foe
Go on and stab it
Whilst you think they will grab it
Deliver the final blow
The angels still fly when the smoke ascends
And the forests are burned to the ground
And the angels still fly when it comes to an end
Though their smile may just turn to a frown
Who am I
That I can deny
The facts that exist beyond debate
Who am I
That I can live high
And between good and bad, to differentiate
It could be that I’m blind
Falling behind
Maybe nothing to say for my defence
I may have tripped
Upon molehills, and ripped
The very core of my knowledge and sense
I only speak from what I have seen; I only see from what is real
The world around me is biased and mean; the good is rare and congealed
Correct me please if I don’t speak the truth, correct me please if you dare
But please no lies; you shan’t exclaim this is news…
There’s no doubt that of this you’re aware…
