Hellbound - 5

Tpek woke again in Hell. This time it was fiery. Not painful fire though, just the image of fire. But the image was bad. Tpek saw everything he loved burn. His family screamed. His friends cried for help, but he could not move at all.
"No!" He yelled, powerless to help, watching his life burn before his very eyes, "No!"
Just as he thought he would go mad, he felt an intense pressure in his ears. Water filled his eyes and mouth and when he looked down, the symbol burned like an engine.
He awoke, slumped on the floor of his room, the symbol a thin line of agony on his arm. He looked at the revolutionary note on his bed. Then he thought of the burning vision of his home he had seen in while unconscious.
"To Hell with it." (no pun was intended).
Tpek turned and walked away from his destiny.

The One Who Influences watched Tpek in horror. The idiot was running away! From his own story! In all his years subtly changing the way people thought, The One had never encountered anything like this. Tpek knew a bit about Hellbinding , and must have realised that his Hellbinding had something to do with the revolution, but he still was trying to escape. The One had had enough. This thief was to die.

Tpek walked down the road away from Ansfold, wondering if he had made the right choice. His Hellbinding had something to do with the revolution, that was obvious. He recalled the old story - a handsome prince was once killed before he rescued a princess from the clutches of a dragon and was brought back to save her. When he did the fairy godmother granted him a long life for it. The tale neglected to mention what would happen if the Hellbound person did not complete their task. Tpek guessed that he would spend longer and longer periods in Hell until eventually he never returned. But he had decided he would rather spend an eternity in Hell than one day with the kind of blood a revolution brought on his hands.
"Stop there." A voice spoke behind him. It sounded like a voice not used to speech, one that considered itself above it.
Tpek stopped and turned slowly. The owner of the voice was a strange figure. Not fully formed, its features shifting fast.
"What are you?" Tpek asked.
"You can call me," The creature said, raising its hand, "The fairy godmother."
Tpek's mind exploded in agony. The figure smiled insanely, its face shifting to resemble Tpek. "And no one escapes my story."
Tpek fell to his knees, his own face a few inches away. The intense pain was too much. His mind had only one place to retreat.

The One Who Influences smiled. He would have to play the part of Tpek himself.

Tpek lay in the ditch where he had fallen. Beneath his skin a fiery symbol glowed.

Hopefully I'm trying to add mood

Really liking the series... Although maybe pretend the pun WAS intended? :)

@DrCarrow It's a serious place, Hell. You can't go around making puns when you spend half your time there.

@overskill sorry...

@DrCarrow Don't be sorry. I was just explaining why I didn't want an intended pun.

@overskill I get you :)
