Lydia ran.
And ran.
And ran.
She could feel the flames, they were nearly close enough to touch her.
She was following a tall, blonde girl in front of her. Lydia pumped her legs faster and faster, finally managing to catch up with the girl.
"What..wha what is this?" Lydia huffed as she and the girl tried to outrun the flames.
The girl turned to look at her. He foot caught on a branch. Lydia watched in horror as the girl fell to the ground. The stranger tried to get back up, but wasn't quick enough. She was immediately engulfed in flames. Lydia watched as the girl was burnt alive, animal noises bellowing out of her. The screams were enough to bring tears to Lydia's eyes. The flames were surrounding the girl, fully sucking her into the vortex. The cries of the girl became louder and louder, until, suddenly, it became eerily silent. The girl had been burnt to ashes. The flames were now ready to chase another victim.
Lydia ran.
And ran.
Until she collapsed onto the ground and fell asleep, Dreaming of monsters and gunshots and earthquakes and dying.
