Less than a grain of rice
Specks of dust
In the grand scheme of things
We are all as such
A fragment of a percentage
Of eternal time
In the vastness of the universe
Our bells barely chime
Most of us leave
Without a footprint to show
Our souls quietly depart
And our lights cease to glow
Immortality belongs
To the ones who shine bright
Not all which are pure
Not each light is white
We all make the decision
Early on in our lives
To live with true hearts
Or let darkness survive
When specks become a blemish
Which can not be wiped from memory
They are championed by mankind
And given permanent celebrity
