My eyes were burning as I tried to open them. Sea's salt crust was stuck in my eyes so it was hard to see. A huge light was facing me and a long figure was standing way back in the corner. My head buzzed as I tried to get up from the cold, icy floor.
" You sure do like to get some sleep." said the distant figure which I realised was a woman by her voice.
" W-who, where umm... You" I whispered forgetting the proper way to speak.
" I am Courtney, I have found you unconscious in the middle of the Pond of Causes. I brought you here to my den. If there is anything else I'm 27." replied the distant figure.
" Can't.... See.." I shivered as my eyes started to close again. The figure came closer and took what looked like a towel and rubbed my eyes. I blinked away from the shining light and looked at the woman. She had a swimsuit over her which was all wet and soaked, her face was wrinkled as if she has been in the ocean for a decade.
" What's...happened...?" I started getting back to myself.
" Believe it or not, you are now at a forbidden island. Strange things happen around here. I've been trying to get out of here for 12 years. I built this den and have given up escaping. When I was 9 me and my father went travelling on a boat. We stopped here because the ship was recked. We stayed at the shore, Father said he would get me some fruits, from that day I never saw him." told the woman carefully."You must get some sleep now. Tomorrow I'll see you in the morning."
But before could say anything she was gone. I looked around the room and saw a futon bed with white sheets of fur. Questions blurred my mind as I saw a little girl with her mother deep drowning in the sea yelling " Candace, stay on the ship, I'll get you soon!" The little girl yelled after her mother but she could not do anything.The poor girl was abandoned in the sea.
