Only for the beautiful

But really it's dutiful
Poems are only
For the beautiful
You loved me once
Your poems you did write
So pure and white
For me you loved once
and thought beautiful
Not the ugly dunce
Poems you once wrote
Lines so beautiful
Your love so deep
Expressive and clear
Tugged at the heart
Of the one you called dear
Now you gloat
You silly old goat!
Tho' poems you don't write
For the beautiful or ugly
Instead you see me alright
With tea and sympathy
And cuddles all night
Muttering in my ear
Awake with chitchat
You made me love you
You silly old bat!!
