A Human's Dream

I sat and pondered all the hate in the world, emotions of sympathy began to swirl.

Violence we share with animals all the same, makes me wonder, how a human can be called humane?

We hurt each other without a second thought, than two days later, we forgot why we fought.

A strange creation we are, trusted as keepers of this world, wars take many lives, a sad downward swirl.

Maybe we need to start over, destroy the preconceived notions, alas this would not work, we are controlled by our emotions.

Well, it is still nice to dream, a place I can escape, maybe one day someone will listen, to help our human fate.

Started writing poetry officially in 1991, enjoy reading Edgar Allen Poe, reading and dissecting the Holy Bible, and listening to beautiful/inspiring people. Age has no bearing on creativity. Some of the most beautiful things come from those of much lesser age and life experiences. So listen to those young people!
