Stepping into the unknown,
I struck my way through the vines that were overgrown,
Rising fog blanketed the barren ground,
The air was clear creating echoed sound,
Owls hoots and foxes cries,
Down to the resting heartbeats of the butterflies,
Night had fallen and drawn its curtain,
Over the lands where my role became certain,
The day before I was different, now I'm not the same,
My life ceased, all I felt was the excruciating pain,
The drain of blood from my body as it left,
Turning my heart into stone - my bloods theft,
Now I crave in my every pore,
The same thing that was taken - yet I feel I need more,
My senses heightened my sight and sound,
Tiny animals footsteps become echoed as they brush the ground,
My skin cold and pale,
Matching the weather, of the snow and hail,
My body hardened - my lips a deep red,
No longer alive - immortal, dead,
Speed and intuition on my side,
The earth becomes as blur as the wind and I collide,
Running towards the target of my greed,
My victims blood fulfils my need,
Cracks and whips of noise surround me,
As I sprint towards them with grand velocity,
Taking them by surprise is my goal,
To drain them dry to make me whole,
Sinking my teeth into their neck they begin,
To struggle and writhe whilst I feast upon their skin,
Their tainted blood awakens my senses,
The victims body suddenly goes rigid and tenses,
The metallic twang bites at the back of my throat,
Beneath my arms I feel the body still and croak,
Their heart no longer beating - still like mine,
Drinking them dry - something so clandestine,
A betrayal to the human race,
As I bleed them dry I slow my pace,
Blood runs down my chin to my chest,
The life I've taken meant nothing as I digest,
This is my life to crave and desire,
Through the night I stalk my prey - the life of a vampire.
