Frozen to the core
Bones left aching and sore
As she watches from the distance
Her fading mortal existence.
The night wasn't supposed to end like this
She had been out once... To celebrate Christmas
But now as she laid motionless on the ground
She realised there was no help to be found.
A last gasp of frozen midnight air
As icicles formed at the tips of her hair
The cold consuming her blood stream
Would she wake and this just be a bad dream?
As the frost crept over her lifeless being
She knew her maker she would be seeing
Her ghost now kneeling by her side
Whispering "Our fears we no longer have to hide"
