There was an air of emptiness when I went to see you today
Just seeing you there with the flowers that lay
You looked so peaceful and serene
The hour passed in a state like a dream.

I got to thinking about what memories I had of you and grandad
And suddenly I was no longer feeling as sad
I recalled all the days going for random country drives
I recalled me and Em having some of the best adventures of our lives
I remembered your first holiday abroad
And Carlos getting confused because your accent was so broad.

So Nan as you lay your head to rest
Sleep well knowing you are with some of the best
And we will carry on
Even though you and grandad are gone
We will continue to make you proud
And we will always make ourselves stand out from the crowd.
