Never Forget

Battle grounds marked out
The soldiers return for one last bout
The scars they have gathered ... Hidden well out of sight
Keeping their thoughts, memories and feelings in the shadows ... Never to see day light

Witnesses of grave atrocities
Keepers of such ferocity
They signed up to honour and protect
Something none will ever forget

With each and every fallen hero
Comes a moving story and how they weren't just another question mark Or zero
Families left distraught
Never seeing their loved ones again is a devastating thought

Some return safe and sound
But for others it's an arrival to be buried in the ground
Lives cut short, but let them not be in vain or filled with regret
Lest we never forget

Remember Them.

For those who gave their lives away, And sacrificed everything each day, We will remember them. For those who go to the fierce war, And them who obey their law, We will remember them.
