peering into the distance I'm sure
I can see a slight movement
a trick of the eye maybe,
so why can't it be dismissed.
Straining harder to see,
I don't hear the door being opened
unaware of the presence
closing in behind me,
a tall stranger stands
whose intentions are unspoken
I freeze as the words he speaks
startles me, "I've come to make you see"
Turning I'm faced with
not a stranger but the cause of
my painful past, but this time
I'm in control and ready to put
an end to the nightmare I've lived.
A single bullet to the head,
"you sold my body but you never asked."
I refuse to be a victim, it's now your time to give.
I can never get back the years
or the innocence that you took
but I'm free and no longer your possession,
You had me hooked, and then groomed
with your words and that look,
but never again will I be be subjected
to another mans aggression.
