I'm comforted
by the defiant thunder
I submit to sleep
as my body goes under.
My world gives way
to those of dreams
The moon smiles
releasing refreshing beams
Contentment my mind
and body screams
This is a place
where all is as it seems.
The birds serenade
the breaking dawn
I'm dragged from dreams
by a stifled yawn
From my comfort blanket
of dark I'm torn
I bid farewell to the night
as the day I scorn.
