And then I came up from the basement
Slowly one step at a time in eager anticipation
Opening the door as I reach the top
Walking out into the open: head aloft
Faces look familiar yet strange
It felt to me like an eternal age
Before someone spoke sincerely
Rearranging his tormented memories
Frowns were now fixed and all around
I tilted my head to his forgotten sounds
"Welcome back to us my old friend
It's been a long time but you're now back again."
I smiled taking in a deep breath
Replying, "I think it's your turn Lance,
Do avoid the circumstance of chance
Fate and destiny await you at the bottom of them stairs
Forgive and forget unsuitable years
Give it a try and try to wonder why
Some fall, some rise and some just lie then die."
Lance gave a nervous smile back knowing
The others gazed upon me showing
No remorse or guilt for allowing
(As if they had a choice in my coming)
Pleasures is their disguise from the last time
Remembering now all their life crimes
I slowly shook my head and as I left
I just turned about and simply said,
"I hope you had as much fun as me
When Lance returns you shall all see
Fear, anger, hate and negativity
Viciously breeds in him so painfully
On his return you shall all believe
Remembering me now as I'm about to leave."
