We tripped the fandango into the surrender of the light
Flirting fireflies glowed all warm and bright
The neon flowered petals' backbeat pulse
And the gently lit grass tickled our naked toes
Brightly feathered birds sung to us their lovers song
An army of wild rabbits jumped and thumped along
In the distant depths of time we heard the mountain wolves howl
And I looked into your eyes at the reflection of the pirouetting owls
We danced along the trail that led us to the river
Rainbow trout leaped in triumph and winked at our endeavours
The grizzlies clapped and growled so proud
And the frogs and toads croaked their notes and lept from pad to crowd
Silence. Complete stillness. No movements. Total darkness.
Then the wild flowing currents of pure and fresh aqua just froze.
We could feel the fear of tiny creatures peering up upon their toes.
I felt you tightly grip and squeeze my hand,
And as we slowly manoeuvred in unison we could smell it, but made no sounds
We moved in closer in our curiosity and youthful minds.
With the blurry hue of the moonlight glow we could just make out what the wildlife wanted us to find.
And they turned to us with sorrowed looks upon their frowns,
Like we was at fault and to blame for all these senseless acts of greed by mankind
I looked at you with no words left to speak
I was ashamed but watched as a tear fell down your cheek
Following its journey intently I was hypnotised as it finally fell off your chin
And as that single tear dropped into the black river of mans sin......
.....I was shocked and jumped out of my skin
The cheers and music continued as that teardrop turned everything back to technicolor movement again
Then we was off on our way...
Into the future with brighter days.
In the distance we paused and stopped to look back as the wildlife merrily waved,
And as you pulled me in for a kiss I knew I was saved
