Soul Tree

Do trees have souls?
I have never been told
Seeds blown down wind
Birds eat and insects
Germinate and increase growth rate.
Rise up, arms spread wide to reach your sun god
Do trees know something time forgot?
Does the tree know it produces more seeds that it needs?
Does the tree and seed know they are related - family?
Roots deeply burrowed in earth,
Tunnelling through the undergrowth.
How do they know where they need to go?

We have feet - trees roots
We have arms - trees branches
We have skin - trees bark
We have tears - trees sap
We breathe oxygen - trees produce it

Mother natures natural air filters
Slaughtered for our cheap, crap, tacky furniture
We can send man to the moon
To glory in self achievement.
So why can't we produce man-made wood
To pacify natures agreement?
What have we done with Eden?
What have we bloody become?

Do trees have souls?
Evolution we are told;
Survival of the fittest,
Survival of the forests.
Eating away at the food chain
- are trees to blame?
The birds and the bees
Animals, mammals are free
to evolve naturally.
But do trees have souls?
All things - one big interweaving, dynamic family.
So do trees have souls?
I think, maybe, yes, it could be so?

Some great observations here, kudos to you my friend! Brilliant write :)

Think they have

@Dovahkiin thank you. Do you think trees have souls tho? Lol :-)

@Dovahkiin they are still living breathing organisms so by application I guess they do. Can't think of a reason why they shouldn't but its something we have yet to discover methinks!

@simplystylish I think so too :-)

@Dovahkiin thanks! So would it be true to say all things living that reproduce, grow and evolve/survive have a soul? I'm interested in what/where/how/why we draw the line on what does/ doesn't have a soul :-)

Very, very nice man. Bug up the tree poems! Ha ha, love your 'shaman' take on it. J x

@Zoodark thank you buddy. I'm not a tree hugger I just have a curious mind and "drift off" most of the time :-)

Love it very nice ๐ŸŒด I think they have souls if by definition all living creatures have a soul ๐Ÿ˜Š

@aleishagayle20 thank you. How do you define something that's living tho? Lol x

Well something that's alive breathing living sheesh a worms alive besides tress flowers etc are alive beautiful and perfect that have too be alive besides trees breath we couldn't breath without them I'm sure 'god' or whoever would reward them with a soul ๐Ÿ˜Š what do you think?

@aleishagayle20 I think (too much) something to be living needs certain things for it to live (water, oxygen, sun, food source, ect ect right?) nothing can survive without something else. To reproduce could be the key here, lol. Example: my car is inanimate object (man made) but if I put water, oil, diesel/petrol ect it "lives" but it cannot reproduce itself or a form of itself so, therefore, my car has no soul. Here's the thing tho that's really bugging me: does bacteria/viruses have soul(s)?? Surely they must do right? Is a DNA strand a soul? I got no bloody idea!! Confused again!! Lmfao Mwah xx

Mankind are meant to have evolved from bacteria and yes I think your right they need certain things but yes agree with the reproducing food water etc lol so does that include viruses that are man made? By definition they reproduce eat etc but there made by mankind?

Or is it in fact how were meant to be made from an other worldly organism ie god so have we in fact played god? In making something living? So does it have a soul of we made it? Uuumnnm confusing?!? Lol โ˜บ

@aleishagayle20 yes bingo!! Can humans create a soul in a lab? That would mean humans are gods? Right? Lol xxx

@smellyfingers lmao hehe eureka lol I know right crazy just crazy hard to answer now ๐Ÿ˜ณ hehe gosh were weird lol ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

@aleishagayle20 I read somewhere (I forget where it was) but basically: humans back in the day were living in harmony, peaceful, love then this meteor thing crashed into earth, on this big old lump was a bacteria/ virus type micro organism, this organism lived and

Multiplied on the land (on fruit, in streams ect), man ate and was infected by this organism which we now call hate/anger/fear, all the bad stuff. XxX (sorry my thumb had a spams) Lmfao

* spasm Lmfao it's all going Pete tong today, haha x

@smellyfingers lmao hahaha sounds bit methodical but it's a pic civility nobody can know for sure I still believe trees have souls tho silent ever watching beings โ˜บ

Possibility lol your making me spas now lol ๐Ÿ˜

@smellyfingers I definitely think trees a conscious being, as much as we are.๐Ÿ˜Š

I hate this comment system; I always make typo's..

@aleishagayle20 hahaha you are wonderful, had me in stitches. Someone said "I think therefore I am" I enjoy thinking, it's good to explore ;-) xxx

@DuRoLuRo yes they must, surely. Those people who talk to plants/flowers are not crazy then? Lool ;-)

@smellyfingers Not completely crazy๐Ÿ˜‰

@smellyfingers lol hehe good glad I make you laugh ๐Ÿ˜ and I think I'm great so therefore I am great I love this saying hehe ๐Ÿ˜˜ and I agree that's one of the main pleasures in life being able to ask questions and continue learning all the time ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I love you @smellyfingers xx

@smellyfingers just bec we cant comunicate With trees it doesnt mean they dont have souls, or any other living things... No tree hugger either But curious

@lonelynutmeg98 lol awwww bless thanks xxx

@simplystylish thanks. Yes it's interesting isn't it. Thanks for your comments, appreciate it :-)

Depends what you mean by a soul really. A sort of 'life force'? A spirit? Something else?

And also, talking to plants makes them grow more. Conclude what you will about that! :-p

@Irrational_Kimmi in the poem I wrote trees produce more seeds than it needs. Birds, animals ect eat seeds, some don't germinate, so the tree over produces seeds. Does that mean a tree has a thought process or conscience? How does it know it needs to produce more? It's own history? Dnav

* DNA (sorry) or is it just 1 of them things that happens? I don't believe things just happen for no reason, nature is far too complex for coincidence......don't you think? X

I guess science would say it evolved that ability but I don't know how it can know it needs to produce more seeds if it doesn't have some kind of consciousness. Ah this is deep stuff @smellyfingers !

@Irrational_Kimmi science says we and all other living things have evolved too, we have souls, why not a tree? Is a soul consciousness? Being self aware? Is that a soul? Lol yeah it's quite deep :-) x

@smellyfingers dude it's blowing my mind! For 6pm on a Friday evening it's damn deep.

@Irrational_Kimmi Lmfao I'm simply responding to your comments hun. You asked. Hahaha maybe think about it and get back to me then? ;-) xx

@smellyfingers hehe it's fine, I like a deep conversation. I just don't know what I really think about this one except I like trees! They are underrated.

You know what I hate though? When you see a tree inside a sad little ring of metal fencing. It's like an artificial naturalness, designed to meet the aesthetic needs of humans. It's so...sad.

@Irrational_Kimmi I like deep too lol. Maybe you should think more if you don't know (not at 6pm on a Friday tho), yes underrated but more taken for granted. When rain forests have been slaughtered and are no more then we will be buggered, lol

A bit late for this one, but I do think most living things have a soul, getting rid of flys is hard on your conscience when you think like that.

@Irrational_Kimmi explain these rings around trees? In the high street or up the road trees? Them rings are to protect/help trees grow aren't they?

@smellyfingers I think they are meant to stop people touching the tree (which is off, I want to touch the damn tree!) or to look pretty, I'm not sure really. I just think its sad that as a society, we feel the need to put a neat little fence around each tree. And surround it in concrete and paving.

@Irrational_Kimmi lol I think they are just guides so the tree doesn't go at a weird angel?? Yes it's very sad, concrete jungle now babes. Jump on train out to countryside and then look up at all the stars, amazing it is. Not like in city ;-) x

@Stablish never too late fella. Yeah and little spiders, what did we ever do to a tiny little spider, we should all let them live, they just trying to provide for themselves and build a home, nothing wrong with that. Loool

@smellyfingers I'm lucky and live in the country, the stars look great, well when the sky isn't black. My friend laugh when I refuse to kill something lol.๐Ÿ˜ƒ @Irrational_Kimmi

@smellyfingers After reading this, and all the comments, I've realized my home is full of corpses! Dang! :O
