Believe in the need to succeed
Overpowering wills freed
Releasing shackles of blame
Removing endless tears in shame
Are you not of sound mind?
Playing games too unkind?
Why do you not smile?
Praying cartoon gods awhile?
The wax man feeling bright
Dipping his wick all day and night
Burning brightly at polar ends
Blowing smoke rings round the bends
Muted screams in brain
Waxed expression same
Hidden depths peeling and shedding
Skinless, boneless, spineless limping
Slumped on stoney chequered floor
Bruised, battered and ignored
Crack appears and seem splits
Tortured soul sways stormy ships
The wax man feeling bright
Dipping his wick all day and night
Burning brightly at polar ends
Blowing smoke rings round the bends
Reborn again at empty glass
Bottles. Frowned in blood, salty
Sea water froths and foams
Battering another whiskey on the rocks.
Going down and deeper inside
Out pours the blame and shame
Directed at oneself in tides
Curves and swerves its name
The wax man feeling bright
Dipping his wick all day and night
Burning brightly at polar ends
Blowing smoke rings round the bends
Hitting rocks at bottom
Nothing to give or to lose
Attitudes and hearts rotten
Building on what's left to choose
Rise up and feel the day
Rise up fill it with other ways
Rising up feeding on what you crave
Rising up feeling behaved
The wax man feeling bright
Dipping his wick all day and night
Burning brightly at polar ends
Blowing smoke rings round the bends
Reaching goals little and old
Feeling great again we're told
Rinsing away the coloured dye
Fading blackness into hazel eyes
Progress called the witness
Reading aloud forgiveness
Books of rusty knowledge
Looks in trusty homage
The wax man feeling bright
Dipping his wick all day and night
Burning brightly at polar ends
Blowing smoke rings round the bends
