When like a candle now,
Your light has ceased;
When like the sun,
Your warmth subsided;
After your radiance completely left me,
Alone in the dimness that knows
no morning or night;
The coldness making me quiver,
As I try to console myself
With the rhymes you left behind --
The songs that took me to sleep.
I then close my eyes
To feel once again,
The warmth of your tender kiss;
Bringing me comfort, yet with pain,
Knowing I'll wake up the next morn
Without your voice whispering
words of love.
Though maybe late have I professed
The love deep in my heart concealed,
I pray that the wind take my words
To where you are at rest now.
Until my candle's last teardrop fall,
When I can be with you --
Remember my love,
I'll never forget you.
