If you shall unfold your lids at the
Break of dawn, awakened by my stillness;
And when the coldness of early morn
Seem to reach the core of your
Searching and solitary soul,
Finding not even a vestige of my perfume
That used to linger in the room where
We once dared to unleash deep emotions,
Conquering each other's fears and
Uncertainties of tomorrow;
Ask not the stars hiding at daybreak,
Nor the rising sun of the reasons
Why I vanished in the night
For it is not beyond your understanding
But you resisted to perceive
The wishings my heart has endeavored
To reach you at each sundown.
Though its courage undiminished, yet
It has grown weary, repeating
Phrases that failed to be heard amidst
The noises encompassing your domain.
Or it could have lost its strength from
Weeping; waiting vainly for the
Touch of your hand, the warmth of
Your embrace, and mellow whispers of
Love, with promises furnishing vivid
Hope for the morrow.
If only thine eyes would look back
The road that was once traveled by,
Where good nights and unspoken psalms
Are the bridges that unified our hearts,
Yet the intimacy we had yesterday
Took us to where we are, more than less,
Then you'll find my heart's desire
Of a love inviolable, unchanging,
Withstanding distance and time.
