Part 6
I put my head on the dry grass and sob. "I surrender, I surrender." I keep mumbling inbetween sobs. I hear Tristan chanting my name trying to get me to come over. Even Danny chimes in after a while with encouraging words, but James doesn't speak and after a few minutes I relize why. He comes leaping through the grass an runs past me. He tackles one of the soldiers closest to us and grabs his gun. He pounds him to the ground repeatedly smashing his face with his fist. Again and again until I can't stand to watch anymore. When his face is finally smashes up and bloody enough he stops. He leans over the tiny brook and rinses off some of the blood. I see Tristan pelt a huge rock at the soldiers head and he falls to the ground holding his temple with his hand until it falls to the ground lifelessly.
I lift up my head ashamed of the coward I was being. Lindsey just got taking away and all I did was watch. I feel Tad grab me by the waist and throw me on his back. His shoulder hurt bumping against my bloody stomach, but I didn't care.
When we reach the little campsite we had Tad put my down on the log. Tristan and Danny sat near me almost observing me. I feel Tristans cold hand lift up the little cloth that was on my stomach and I winced. Danny gave a disguisted look and walked away.
" Is it that bad?" I ask lifting up my head a little to see. He pushed my head back down against the ground and shaked his head.
"It looks like you just got attacked by a dog." he laughs a little "amazing how sensetive you have to be to get cut up this back by prickler bushes."
I frown and shoot him look. "Wheres James?" I ask looking around.
"Down by the brook washing up a bit I think." he says. He looks and me and frowns "I think you should do the same."
I nod and try to stand up. Tristan backs up a little, but arms extended incase I fall. Slowly I wobble to standing, but with more pressure on my left foot. When I go to take a step my right foot doesnt exept the pressure and I collapse onto the ground.
"Thanks for the catch." I mutter sarcastically. Tristan gives me an apologetic look and scoops me off the ground. I feel safer in his strong arms. I smile a little and then I see Joey walk out from his tent.
"Wheres Lindsey?" he says with concerned eyes. Tristan shakes his head and Joey frowns. He didn't look the same as he did three days ago before this all happened. His face was longer and smaller. He didn't have his same rosey red puffy cheeks. His stomach was smaller too. Almost skinny.
Tristan leaves Joey there and starts toward the brook. I see Tad go over to Joey and put a hand on his shoulder. He pushes it away and goes to his tent.
When we reach the brook I notice it's deeper. We must have gotten rain last night, a whole lot of it cuz the water was nearly up to my waist. I unwrap the cloth from my stomach and look at it. Now I relize what it is, it's Tristan's shirt. I laugh a little, and say "sorry"
"What are you sorry about?" he asks
"I got your shirt all dirty."
"Anything for you is worth it." he smiles and puts his hand under my chin. Pushing me up towards him. On my tip toes I can reach his lips and I put my hands on his shoulders to support myself. He gently kisses me once and then comes back for another. I kiss him back and he wraps my legs around his waist. When he slides his hands to my waist and starts to kiss me more feircly I relize what was happening I pull back and smile. He smiles back and I flip his shaggy blonde hair out of his eyes.
"I thought you said James was down here." I say looking around. He grabs me by my waist and slowly lowers me to my feet.
"Yeah, he was." he says. After a couple minutes of looking around and not seeing anything. I turn to Tristan.
"Oh no." I mutter and look down at the water "do you think he-" we where cut off by the three single bubbles rising to the surface of the brooke.
