Staying up late with you,
Is like looking up at the night sky,
Our words outnumber the stars,
Each syllable is a plane,
And it flies like a blue bird,
That's fat on worms.
Staying up late with you,
Makes my mouth water for morning coffee,
And my eyes burn from the stale air of my room,
I need to escape,
But sleeping in isn't an option,
And our reception sucks.
Staying up late with you,
Is climbing a mountain,
And when I reach the top,
I can't breathe,
Because its far too cold.
And the air is just to thin,
I think I'll just go to sleep.
I stayed up late with you,
And now I don't sleep easy,
My eyes never shut,
Because yours don't open,
All because I didn't stay up late enough.
