Sometimes I hurt so much
My raging grief could tear a hole
In this world (the emptier Earth)
And step through to some
Alternative reality where you're alive
Where we still laugh
Where we still talk of things
And you shuffle in those shoes
With the backs trodden down
We still call each other on Christmases
And kindly take the piss out of faults -
Faults we have, accept, forgive.
I'm jealous of us two
In the alternative world,
That Earth of simple loves
Where we still laugh.
