The light streams in.
A noise screams through the silence;
It didn't wake me.
Insomnia has taken your place,
I lie with it in bed at night.
No sleep in which to dream;
Maybe a blessing in disguise.
For if I slept I'd dream of you,
And wake.
Scared, alone and scarred.
A constant reminder of you,
Is burned into my skin.
An outward sign of my inner pain.
I didn't know pain before,
Upset and heartache;
Just meaningless words,
Like passion and love.
Now I know them all.
Because of you,
I'm tired and lonely;
Betrayed and crying.
Is this the price I pay,
For a moments happiness?
Please tell me,
What's the price,
For a moments peace?
How did you like this story?

Ink and steel, drunk and stroppy... Life should not be feared when you have the words to tame all...
