Prologue
I ran as fast as I could. Jumping over fallen branches and ducking between trees. I could hear him coming closer.
My lungs burned and my throat felt torn up from my ragged breathing. But I couldn't think about that right now. I could only think about my family.
Blood everywhere so so much blood and their screams . They sacrificed themselves for me. They yelled at me to run and not look back.
So I ran and ran, tears making everything blurry. They told me to go that I was much more important than them. But even as I ran as fast as I could he was coming closer and closer.
Nothing was more important than my family. I would never get them back never. I weaved between a thick cluster of trees to a lake.
The lake was the most beautifulest lake I had ever seen. It commanded full attention it was so mesmerizing. I knew I had to run but I couldn't the lake was so beautiful-crystal clear water surrounded by tall reeds and cattails. With trees all around and flowers of every color here and there. -it was like something from a fairy-tale.
I stayed a moment to long because I suddenly felt a sharp pain in the back of my head. I fell to the ground darkness closing around my vision. The last thing I remember seeing were his boots, brown leather and worn, then darkness.
