The small chest, it lays in his closet.
Hed never dared to open the thing, not since his minset
Was overturned by sadness and tragedy
But maybe in it lays the remedy?
He opened the jewelry box and saw the wedding ring
That really caused deep pain and aching
For it had belonged to his deceased wife
Shot in the head, punctured by knives
Tears ran down the man's face as he shoved it away
As a single necklace fell his way
The most beautiful and decorated thing to have been in here
Small, bittersweet looking
A sorrowed silver tear.
