He lies there not breathing
On the hospital bed
Only a fortnight ago
Did we both wed
His face like an angel
No pain anymore
He's gone somewhere better
Than he was before
A nineteen year old boy
Never thinking of death
His heart full of spirit
Till his last dying breath
He won't yell in pain
He won't cry anymore
His train left for Paradise
At sixteen past four
I was done grieving
A long time ago
The leaves left the branches,
The rain turned to snow
I don't visit his grave
I know there's no one there
He's in the winter wind and the warm summer air
He wouldn't want me to wallow, to pity and cry
He'd want me to go on
And live till I die
