It's been a while since he's drove down this stretch. I can see the sweat just breaking on his brow, yet his body trembles as if cold. Even over the rumble of his truck, I can hear his ragged breathing. The glossy look of his eyes threatens to crumble the control I've been building up just for this moment, but looking out the window isn't any better. I decide to close my eyes, the painful memories flash one after another until I lose sense of how close we are. I open my misty eyes as the truck rumbles to the stop. Where the flowers and cross lay, where you last where.
