I'm A Bird... Who's Broken A Wing

I am a bird who's broken a wing
I wonder how the other birds sing
I hear the whispers of the trees
I see the strife of the bees
I want to see the others sing
I am a bird who's broken a wing

I pretend to soar where no bird has dared to soar
I touch the whipped cloud floor
I feel the wind glide under my wings
I worry I will never do these things
I cry one tear, what a hopeful feeling
I am a bird who's broken a wing

I understand that there's hope, love and joy
I say give it all you got, life is no toy
I dream of my wonders and wonder of my dreams
I try, in the dark to see the light beams
I hope one day they will fix me out of this sling
Cause I am a bird... Who's broken a wing

I glanced up and noticed the vase. Like everything else in my life. The roses had withered and died. The flowers had turned dry and crisp. The smell was no longer a perfume.
