My hand to my heart
I raise my face to the sky
Out of my mouth
Drifts the words of my country,
The words I do humbly live by.
I stare my enemy in the eye,
No more do I fear his gaze.
My heart pounds rapidly
As I take the ball in my hand.
Thousands of eyes strained upon me,
Yet very few believed.
My dream wad for fame,
My dream was for respect,
And here I am.
With my hand to my heart
I kick the ball into the sky,
And watch it rocket back to earth.
I hear the bellow of the crowd
As the ball hits the net.
The Arms of my team mates
Around me.
We worked together,
We won together
By Me
