Submission

So many things have happened, too much of it is wrong,
Atrocities throughout the World, people who don't belong.
Different Gods, against all odds, opposing aspects of religion,
Questions of refining oil, mining gold or abject malnutrition.

Presidents rule, dictators cruel, Kings and Queen's derision,
Justices, segregation, rights lost and moral degradation.
Citizens, victims and subjects, all desperate for recognition,
Fight with steely swords, bombs and guns full of ammunition

Heroes fall, ground claimed and battles fought far too long,
Pen to paper, stories of those so bold, now rested in oblivion.
Too many sour letters of lost souls, dear Jane and dear John,
Our families grieve on either side, losers every single one.

Each an asset lost, unrealised potential forever gone,
Killing each other, massacres, death and so on.
Should respect, acceptance and understanding come,
War is not the answer but to learn to live is won.
