I stopped when Frogface got beside me and let him pass. He didn't seem to mind and it wasn't long before we made it to the door.
"He really does love you" Frogface commented as he fumbled around with the keys on a large hoop.
"I know" I whispered. He turned to look at me, a key between his thumb and forefinger, and there was sympathy in his eyes. He felt sympathy towards me? This, somehow, made me angry. It made me really angry.
"I know you love him too, I can see it in your eyes" He said, watching me still.
I nodded, not trusting my voice.
"I'm sorry you won't get to love him for long." He continued.
"No, you're not" I whispered.
A look of slight confusion crossed his face. "What?" He asked.
"No, you're not" I said louder, stronger, and then the anger really kicked in. I moved forward and shoved him hard into the door. Over the shock of it, Frogface's head hit the door and his eyes rolled. I shuddered but didn't hesitate to grab the keys. I fumbled about with them, looking for the key to open the door.
"Green key" A voice whispered.
I grabbed the green key, it was easy to find being both the biggest and brightest in colour. I shoved it into the lock and twisted it. I felt the lock move and once it clicked open, I pushed the door as hard as I could. It slammed against the wall but the light behind me lit up the whole room. Charming was already standing, waiting for me.
"Did you kill him or something?" He grinned, holding his hands out for me to see.
I ignored him and ran back to Lampton's cell. I had the green key still between my fingers but I couldn't steady my hand enough to force it into the lock. Charming put his hand over mine, to steady it, then led the key into the lock. I was grateful that he was there and when I opened the door Lampton was waiting, just like Charming had been, and the proud look on his face made me cry.
"We need to get out of here, Princess." Charming said, grabbing my arm.
I nodded and held out my hand to Lampton, he took it gracefully and grinned at me.
We were ready. We were finally going to get our house and get married. We just had to get away from Frogface first.
"Let's go" Lampton grinned, dragging me into a run. I took Charming's hand as well and I think he was grateful that I did because he gave me a little smile afterwards.
"Stairs" I practically screamed with joy after a while and we ran towards them as fast as we could.
What if Frogface woke up? What if I killed him? Oh gosh, I hoped I hadn't killed him. As evil as he was, he didn't deserve to be killed by me.
"I will get you, Princess." A voice whispered in my ear. Nope, he wasn't dead.
