So here's my story
My daughter's son has a disability
Yes, he's special
And means the world to me
He has to have structure
In order to have fun
But you know what?
It never hurt anyone
His bowl has to be red
And not his brother's green
Otherwise he will
Kick and scream
But that's just one day
Everyone has their ups and downs
But a day with my grandson
Is never a bringer of frowns
His laugh is so joyous
Wears his heart on his sleeve
He's as brave as a lion
He can show you how to believe
He's more perfect than you
Yet you cast him aside
But if you only knew
How he felt inside
The look on his face
Tells me the kind of day
Whether it be good
Or bad, or even okay
But don't tell me he's not normal
When you and him are one
Living and breathing
Both like to have fun
Just remember not to judge him
When you don't know him at all
Just know he's a gentle soul
And he's got people to pick him up when he's about to fall

I wanted to post this for #disabilityaware but I wasn't sure if I'd done it right so now that I've finished it properly, I'm posting it ... I'm sorry if this offends anyone in any way, that wasn't my intention ...
