When I finally woke up the car was slowing down. It was morning, my belly was growling, and I was dazed.
"We are here, Joanna" He said quietly, pulling the car into a driveway. It was a small driveway which led up to a equally small house. The blue house looked old, paint peeling, and had the haunted look about it.
"It may not look like much but it's home" He smiled, stopping the car.
I didn't want to get out. I was far from home, unhappy, and I just wanted to hide somewhere and never come out. I got out though, when he did, and grabbed my bag.
You know that feeling you get when you know someone is watching you? Yep, I got that. Someone was watching me. People were watching me walk towards my home. It made me feel awkward inside.
As I stepped up the the door, the feeling went. The door opened slowly, showing me the dust filled house that I would be living in and the inside looked more rundown than the outside. From that moment I knew that I'd have to do something. I'd have to make this house a home and not a place where I could harm myself with every step I took.
"Welcome home, Joanna" A voice called.
Welcome home? This wasn't home. I hadn't wished to be here, I hadn't agreed. I needed the chance to talk to my parents eventually, persuade them to take me back, but until then... It wouldn't hurt to be nice, would it?
