Chapter 5

My Aunt found out how to get me to the GPC. My heart beats in my chest as we walk up to the 8 foot tall dark red door. It was scary. A girl opened the door. "Hello. Sit, sit. Make yourself at home." She said. "Thank you." Aunt Leslie said." The girl walked to another door. It is the size of a normal door. "Mother Amid." She said. "Someone is here. One moment please."
A large woman walked up. "Hello! She said happily. "I am Mother Amid. I am the assistant to the man who counsels the families." She smiled big. "Yes. That's nice. But I need to talk to... Her." Aunt Leslie said. M. Amid pulled my Aunt closer to her. "How did you know about her?" She asked very quietly. "I have my sources." Aunt L. answered. "Very well. I'll call her up." M. Amid walked away. Confused at how my aunt knew about this mysterious person. 'Who could this person be? Her. What a very unspecific name.' I thought to myself. We were brought to a room to talk to Her. "I've been expecting you. Serena Lilly-Anne Abrams. My name is Hether Casting" There she is! The woman. She is tall. Red head. Pretty. But not gorgeous. I know her. I have seen her in the mall, at the bank. Everywhere! She stared at me all the time. Now I know why. She knew me. She knew my life. She knew my family. She knew everything I have known. How? I don't understand. Has Aunt Leslie spoken to her? Has my uncle? Has any of my family? I have a feeling that getting my parents is going to be hard. They are in Las Vegas right now. Probably gambling, drinking, fighting with people, and getting in trouble with the police. Only normal for them. I miss my brother. Luckily, I brought my loving dog LuLu with me. Aside from all of that, the lady decides to speak to me now. "Serena. I need to tell you why you were born. And how. " she says. 'I already heard this stuff at school.' I thought. "You were living on welfare. And to get more money, your mother had you and your brother. I'm so sorry." She said to me. I cried. I hugged my Aunt Leslie. I felt like running away. I felt like only that could fix my life. But I knew it wouldn't. I grabbed LuLu, my suitcase. I stood there. Crying. I ran straight for the door. But two men grabbed me. I screamed at the top of my lungs. "Get off of me you idiots!" I cried. I managed to escape them. I ran out the door and down the street. I had no idea how to get out. But I found a gate lock. I decided I would climb over the fence. I saw an electric wiring. I tried to climb over as safe as I could. But my leg accidentally touched it. I fell. Lulu by my side. My suitcase a few feet away. I was unable to move. It wasn't electric like I had thought. I was injected with a sleeping medicine. I fell to sleep. I felt the men carry me to the building and into a room. I was locked up in this room with unbreakable glass walls. I could see out. My aunt watched me as I regain consciousness. "Can she come out?" She asked. "No. She must remain there until her parents arrived. Lulu was right next to me. Sitting on the bed. She was well fed. Well taken care of. They gave her a bow. It was pink with white polka dots. I took it off. It looked stupid. Lulu is a pit bull. She isn't going to wear a bow. No way! I guess I have to wait until my parents get here to get out of this room. I want out.
