We hit the ground suddenly and, at the same time, I heard a snap. I cringed away from the sound as I rolled away from Peter and onto my feet.
"Well that was fun" I grinned, turning to look at him.
He didn't look too happy. He looked down at his arm, which was bleeding, and that's when I realised that the snap was his arm. With his other hand he snapped his arm back into place then smiled at me.
"Only hurts for a little while" He smiled and it seemed like an apology. I nodded, not sure what to say, but then I wondered how many times he had done that before. Had he hurt himself all those times?
"Come on, Blake" He grinned, walking away.
I followed slowly behind, taking in his form. He was quite tall and thin, not muscular at all, but it was the way he walked that made him seem big. He seemed to have attitude to his walk, it was a walk that told people not to mess with him.
"Stop watching me" He called back.
I laughed, jogging to catch up. I noticed a little scar on his lip then, I hadn't noticed it before.
"I got bitten" He said, looking at me out of the side of his eye.
"On your mouth?" I tried to hide my disgust but it didn't work.
He shrugged then grinned at me, "I guess I like it rough" He teased then winked at me.
He then laughed. "It's what I get for kissing a vampire when I was human"
"Did you know she was one?" I asked as we came up to the back door of a building.
He opened the door, indicating for me to go ahead of him. "Of course I didn't but she knew she wanted to change me. She bit my lip then changed me after"
"Oh" I replied as I stopped in the darkness.
He switched the light on, illuminating the room.
"I've been waiting for you, Pater" A voice said from a door before us. She was pretty and she knew it too. She had long blonde hair and eyes the colour of the cleanest sea. She was tall and thin, looking almost too thin, and her dimples showed as she gave Peter a dazzling smile.
"Peter." He huffed as he took my hand again. She looked at our hands with a scowl. "You shouldn't make that face, it could get stuck"
Her face softened. "Is that what happened to you?" Then she flicked her hair behind her shoulder and walked away.
Peter took me over to a cabinet as he grinned to himself. When he opened the cabinet he said, "She, however, DOES like it rough"
"She changed you." I shrieked and he laughed. "Her?"
"Yeah, she's hot, right?" He grinned.
"Yeah, she's something" I replied, not sure what else to say.
Peter laughed again. "She's nothing special like she thinks" He said then passed me a bag of blood.
"Food without a face." I commented. "How do we drink exactly?"
I looked up at him just in time to see him bite the bag and start to drink. I wondered who's blood I had within my fingers. There was a name on the bag, Jenny Feathers, and I felt I had to thank her. It was like saying grace but I hadn't done it before and never would. I was just thanking a woman I had never met for giving blood because without her I wouldn't be feeding now. I thanked her mentally before biting into the bag.
"Wow, you really are hungry" Peter commented, obviously watching me, but I didn't answer because he was right. I was ravenous.
