Nightshade Part 23 ( Not The End Of The Story... Yet!)

My heart beat quicker with every passing minute. Isadora and I stood at the edges of the forest, mud smeared on our faces, twigs sticking out of our hair. I leaned over to give Phillip a kiss, knowing it could well be our last. Even though it was just a peck on the cheek, my heart sighed and I blushed. Luckily, it wasn't visible underneath the thick layers of dirt that Isadora had plastered on my face.
He smiled and slipped silently out into the fields. Isadora tensed beside me, her breath forming a cloud in the cold, night air. I watched Phillip pace up and down the rows of crops, looking for the plant we needed. Nightshade. A berry that holds dark secrets beneath it's purple skin. A berry responsible for many deaths. The dark, evil angel of the plant world. He waved his arms in the air in triumph and began to run towards us. Stupid Phillip. He was meant to walk. Not run.
A shout echoed from the distance. Phillip glanced behind him and ran faster. Arrows whizzed through the air towards him. I bit my bottom lip. He wasn't going to make it. Closing my eyes, I held my breath. Minutes later, a very out of breath Phillip stormed into the forest, two plump berries in his hands. He shoved them into my hand, kissed me on the forehead then walked to camp. Now it was up to me and Isadora. Our plan was to sneak into Eliza's tent and poison her. I suggested just to poison her drink and leave, but Isadora wanted to see her die. After much shouting, we decided to poison a knife. Isadora would do the actual killing. As much as I despised her, I wouldn't be able to do it.
My heart skipped as I watched the guards patrol through the fields. They knew something was up. I signalled to Isadora. This was it.
