In the park at night I trod,
Nothing about this night is odd,
The sky is an abyss of black,
The theives must have stolen the stars and trapped them in a sack.
It is autumn and the leaves have died,
There is no street lamps to act as my guide,
A deafening, eerie silence fills the air,
The wind stabs my face without a care.
Every human safe in their homes,
Only the animals are out to roam,
I can hear their ravenous growling,
The wolves begin there ferocious howling.
I see their soulless eyes,
Even with a mask on it can not disguise,
Malice oozing out of ever pore,
It's for people like them Satan opens his door.
Two against one I stand no chance,
They circle me in a taunting dance,
I'm immobilised with fear, I put up a feeble fight,
I struggle helpless as they pull the rope around my throat tight.
Oxygen starved from my burning lungs,
Venomous words drip from their pernicious tongues,
No one around to hear my frantic cry,
So I'll bid the world a merciless Goodbye......
