11:11 Chapter 14

I'm running as fast I can. Sprinting down the hall. 16...17...18...19! I bolt through the door. A petite woman is sitting next to the bed holding his hand.
"Mrs. Paine?" I ask quietly not wanting to wake him.
"Oh Payton, I didn't think you would get here so soon." She says.
"Oh well, here I am." I say. "How long has he been out?"
I sit in a chair next to the hospital bed.
"A few hours. He's woken up once."
"Oh." I say.
Last night after school, when Josh was walking home, someone came flying over a hill and hit him full on. The doctor said he was lucky the collision didn't kill him. He surprisingly only is suffering from a minor concussion.
I hear the door open then slam shut behind me.
"Payton!" Says a snobby voice.
"Uh I think I bet be going.." Says Mrs. Paine as she leaves the room.
I turn in my chair and I see an unforgiving face. It's Kiely. Ugh, great.
"What are you doing here?" Kiely asks.
"Uh I was invited. What about you?" I ask.
"Uh I don't think his own girlfriend needs an imitation to come see her own boyfriend in the hospital."
"Then your in the wrong room because he's not your boyfriend!" I say.
"Oh really? Then I suppose you think he's yours now, don't you?" She says while putting her hands on her hips.
"Actually he is." I say.
"Prove it!"
I pull my flower out I my backpack, I rip off the note tied to it.
"See he sent me this for Valentines Day. He asked ME to the dance not YOU." I say almost shoving it in her face.
"Uh, he's cheating on me!? Make sure you tell him when he wakes up that's we're over! OVER!"
She walks out slamming he door shut behind her.
Thank God she's gone. I sit back in my chair. I grab the vase next to his bed and go into the bathroom. I dump out the water and put in new water. I put the vase back on the nightstand.
I hear a muffled voice. Payton?
I look down at Josh's calm face. I hear it again.
"Josh?" I whisper. "Are you awake?"
His hand maneuvers across the bed slowly. He takes my hand in his and gives it a reassuring squeeze.
