First Look

Chapter 4
Kayla
I couldn't get that boys face out of my head. I wish I knew what his name was. The rest of the day was hopeless because I couldn't pay attention. I saw him walking in the hallway in between one of our classes and I couldn't help but stare. He looked really good in his tight white V-neck. The V-neck wasn't big though. It only went to the bottom of his neck. He was wearing normal Hollister jeans. They fit in all the right places, too. I bit my lip and stared after him. He looked down at something in his hands then turned around. He looked right at meโ€“caught me looking at him actually. I knew I blushed because I was caught. I smiled at the ground and turned back to my locker. I could feel his eyes staring at my back but I didn't turn around. The warning bell rang and I rushed to class without another glance at him.

The next day in chemistry wasn't any better. He sat down next to me and I glanced at him. Right as soon as he looked at me, I looked away. A little smile escaped my lips and I dug into my purse for a pencil. I couldn't find one though. I must have left it in my last class.
"Can I borrow a pencil?" I asked him. He looked a little startled but then recovered.
"Yeah sure." He said and rummaged in his backpack. He pulled out a hot pink pencil and handed it to me. I giggled and took it.
"Thanks. I'm Kayla, by the way."

Liam
Kayla is such a beautiful name. It fits her too.
"I'm Liam." I said and smiled at her. She ducked her head and smiled at the ground. She looked so cute like that. She has the cutest button nose I've ever seen. Her rosy red cheeks define her face. Today she's wearing red lipstick. Her lips are so full and beautiful. I can't help but stare at them. No. I need to make eye contact. I don't need to be staring at her lips... Or her boobs, which are popping out of her V-neck. My eyes shot up to hers and I acted like I never looked.
"So where are you from?" She asked.
"I used to live in New York. What about you? Have you lived here your whole life?"
"Born and raised." She said proudly. She had a slight twang. Everyone from the south has a accent. Her's isn't as defined though. The people that live here, their accent isn't too bad. I now live in Miami. It's beautiful here. I do wish I still lived in New York with my old family. I call Layla every night before I go to sleep. I miss her so much. She says it isn't the same without me. She also said that Gabby got moved to a different home, too.
That makes me nervous because I don't want Kyle to do something to her. I always ask her if he's done anything. It's the same answer every timeโ€“no. I would fly to New York just to personally beat the shit out of Kyle. He's very abusive so doing something to Layla wouldn't surprise me. I thought she'd be safe as long as Gabby was there. Now I'm worried.
"The view is definitely better here, than in New York." I said to Kayla. She giggled and blushed.
"It's better down in the south." She said with a big grin. I laughed and agreed.
"What's something fun to do around here?"
"I love to go play mini golf. There's also this really cool laser place. It's kind of like a laser maze. If you touch one of the laser, you're out. Then, every Friday there's a light show. It's so cool! It's different every week. They make the coolest things. You should really go to it." She sounded so happy talking about them. She was saying them all with a smile which made me smile too.

Michael
I walked in class and immediately looked at Kayla. She was giggling with that new kid. He had a big grin, too. She was also wearing a shirt that had her boobs popping out of it. He said something that made her laugh loudly. I walked over to them and grabbed the kid by his collar.
"What the hell do you think you're doing with my girlfriend." I growled in his face.
"Whoa dude, we're just having a conversation." He said.
"It looks like you're flirting with my girl."
"Michael, stop it!" I heard Kayla say but I didn't listen to her.
"Get. Your. Hands. Off. Me." The kid said angrily.
"Oh yeah? What are you gonna do?" I taunted. What I didn't expect was that he would punch me in the face. It was a pretty hard punch considering that he was behind a desk.
He knocked me back a step but I didn't fall. I rushed him and took him to the ground. I got in two punches before he rolled out from under me. He slammed me against one of the tables. My vision blurred for a second and that was all it took. The kid had me again and was whaling on my face. I heard girls screaming but it didn't matter. The only thing I felt was the feeling in my face. I knew my nose was broken and my jaw felt dislocated.
Finally he stopped punching me. It felt like hours before he stopped. I tried to look up but I couldn't see anything. My eyes were so swollen. I heard a girl sobbing. "It's okay, Michael. You're going to be okay." Kayla was saying before I blacked out. Her sweet beautiful face was in my mind as I floated off into a black abyss.
