These four walls have seen it all
Heard the laughs and felt the tears.
Watched our love's winding path
Protected family through the years.
Three beautiful kids played in its rooms,
Each stained wall has a story to tell.
It provided a home to more,
When our eldest dropped her bombshell.
Those times are gone and there's eerie silence,
Damp is rising, spreading rust.
Echoes of history down its halls,
Family portraits gathering dust.
It comforts me in my final breaths,
Familiar smells of food and sounds of cheer.
These four walls will become no more than stone,
Now that my time to leave draws near.
