Prey

I lack the confidence in my fellow man to chart our destiny,
I need the influence of an outside force to say what's best for me.

Internalised problems find solace in externalised solutions,
Guilt of forefathers washed away in ritual ablutions.

I can not bear the sorrow of death being nothing but the end,
I find comfort in knowing I'll be saved by my spiritual friend.

There must be more to the meaning of life than simply living,
The truth must lie in a jealous god of vengeance, I pray he is forgiving.

Very subtle πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@sarahgamal πŸ˜‚ ty.. Subtle isn't really my thing πŸ˜‰

Removed the previous... Very subtle πŸ‘ΌπŸ‘Ό . There this looks better

@Burrfoot we should start writing our book Burr... I have enough info and contradictions that could start a chapter or two

@sarahgamal πŸ˜‚ That looks just like me! .. A new bible for atheists πŸ˜‚ πŸ™

@sarahgamal @Burrfoot some probably useless info that might be food for thought and Sarah you might've heard but there is a French scientist I think his name is Laurence Bacalle he set out to find contradictions in the Bible and the Quran anyway the scientific facts that he found in the Quran led him to believe that it had come from a higher being and he embraced Islam as his faith, I think he was an atheist

@sjw yeah I know alot of atheists who converted after similar deductions

@sjw Maurice Bucaille .. Not quite as πŸ‘†

@Burrfoot haha I knew I had it wrong somehowπŸ˜‚ at least you knew who I meant 😘

@sjw wasn't he a catholic though?

@sjw I meant his story isn't quite what it appears.. @sarahgamal He was a Christian and Anwar Sadat's GP, when he expressed his view that the bible contradicted science, whereas the Quran did not. hmmm

@Burrfoot anwar Sadat introduced him to king Faisal and then he became King Faisal family physician who paid him 6 million dollars to write the book, no?

@sarahgamal I thought he was an atheist but burr says Christian @Burrfoot why is it not what it appears?

@Burrfoot have you read 'The bible, Quran and science' it's very interesting

@sjw I haven't read it but I would say that getting paid 6 million by your boss to write a book which supports Quran while debunking the bible isn't quite the same as the you put it (I'm not saying you had a motive etc but it's there's more to his story than first meets the eye)

@sjw alot of his scientific deduction were proven wrong scientifically for example his take on embryology. It is indeed an interesting read.

I don't know enough about him to have an opinion, but also read that he has never claimed to have converted to Islam?

@Burrfoot @sarahgamal If you 2 start a new religion and need anyone crucified can I join? I've got an 'O' level in woodwork...πŸ™

Mostafa Mahmoud actually is an excellent example of an atheist who converted to Islam. He was a scientist as well. He didnt tie science with Quran as a scientific reference. He came to his own conclusion that there is a higher super being. His books actually are really interesting to read. He was born into a Muslim family then he became an atheist then back to Islam with a strong conviction.

@TheCodsPollocks Hahahahaha u r in πŸ˜‰

@sarahgamal I've just read bits of dialogue with an atheist..

@Burrfoot his way of approaching the matter I always found interesting. Started reading his books when I was in school ... He also had a tv show that I really loved. Trying to make link between science and Quran.but his way was very elaborate and when there are things he wasn't sure of he simply said "I don't know" . I have great respect for this guy. At some point his books were banned in Egypt. But I think you will enjoy them πŸ‘

@Burrfoot @sarahgamal where's the proof he was paid 6 million to write the book?

@sarahgamal I've heard of mustafa Mahmoud don't know much about him tho

@sjw he is excellent (in my opinion) he wrote about politics as well. And philosophy and alot of things really. U will definitely enjoy his books. I know some were translated if not all of course. He started in the 80s I think. He died a few years back but I always enjoyed his books regardless if I agreed with him or not. 😘

@sarahgamal but don't you find the scientific facts in the Quran interesting? if it is as old as what they say how did they have such knowledge of nature at that time I think it's a fascinating book

@sjw of course it is but ancient Egyptians had many of these facts already engraved on their walls really. So it's a matter of timeline and documenting stories. I remember I came across a book actually how all the stories and "facts" written in religion were already there and written by Pharoahs will look it up. Never got to read it still really but went deep into ancient Egyptians and visited the various temples scattered in Egypt.

@sarahgamal so actually I am more fascinated with ancient Egyptians they were way ahead of their time in science (I think or maybe biased)πŸ˜‚

@sarahgamal lol yes maybe slightly πŸ˜‚ but it's is a great civilisation I visited the mummy room in the museum there tiny little room for whats there but it was awesome seeing history up close like that ☺

I've tried to research the man but as is with all these things there is spin and counter spin.. All I can say for sure is he was a Christian until he started working for the president, wrote a book about the science of the Quran, which thanked his boss for support, and got funding and backing for his pharaoh research from the same bosses.

Without reading his book or the Quran yet I can't really comment on his findings other than to say I've read enough to consider it is unlikely to be revelationary. It's added to my reading list so look forward to it πŸ‘

@sarahgamal @sjw πŸ‘†

@Burrfoot you should add Muslim-Christian dialogue to your reading list too it sheds a lot of light on Christianity and an interesting read.

@sjw πŸ˜‚ my list is like grains of sand on a beach
