Honest men working to feed their families
Plebs in slums are all the wealthy elite sees
Three hundred years ago when the highlands were green
Men noble in title betrayed their countrymen in a manner obscene
Freedom sold for blood money and the right to feast on scraps
Centuries passed and now we stand together, perhaps?
Alas no, greed still festers among those trusted to serve
Lining their pockets while from morality they swerve
Right now, as the argument for independence gathers pace
A 21st century clearance has the backing from leaders whose guilt is a disgrace
It's time to stand up to a billionaire's whim
Some men can't be bought and it's time to show him
Democracy and pride aren't ideals to be humped
Act now and together before we've been Trumped
