Apocalypse 17

When we reached the fence I jumped out and ran over to the lock. My hands were shaking as I tried to insert the keys into the lock but finally I got it off. I pushed the fence open as Zayden pulled the car in. He filled up the tank as I filled up the two gas jugs. We moved as fast as we could. Finally we got it all done and once again we were off. We raced down the road. Our next destination was the mall. It was our freedom, our life, our salvation...
We drove into the deserted city where the mall was. There were no signs of life anywhere. We parked and got out, grabbing our stuff. We walked into the mall and it was empty. There was a video camera laying out in the middle of the floor. I walked over and picked it up. I looked up to see a horde headed straight for me. "Come on, Ash, let's get out of here," Zayden said. Coming over to me and gently pulling me back to the car. I stuffed the camera in my pocket and went out to the car. When we got in I pulled it out and turned it on. There were several photos and a few videos. They were like journal entries only filmed. Sadly, there was no audio. I pulled up the last one and watched. It was a little girl. She looked no older than 8. She was walking around with two other people who seemed to be her parents. She was happy and smiling with out a care in the world. All of a sudden those things broke in and her parents rushed her into a room and shut the door. She picked up the camera and started crying and then the video went off. We were not even that far away when I looked to Zayden and shout at him to stop. He hit the breaks sending everything flying forward including us. "What?," he asked worried. "We have to go back!," I shouted. "What?, Ash you saw what it was like back there! We can't," he said. "Zayden, there's a little girl trapped in there and I want to save her. Now turn this car around or I'll get out and walk!" He turned around and we raced back to the mall.
