Chapter Thirty Six
Between The Two
Caden was silent. He froze in terror. The voice was so scary that he got chills all over his body. His heart started pounding. It was pounding so fast that he was breathing heavily. He turned around and saw Serena. Her red eyes were glowing. She had dark circles around her eyes. She had icy cold face again. She didn't look ugly,she just looked scary.
She got up and walked around. "Ser-Serena?" he called out. Her head twisted backwards. "Yes babe?" she said sweetly but it was scary to Caden. "Uh..um uh...n-n-n nothing" he said. It was hard to speak. Serena twisted her head back and went over to him. As she sat down,he scooted away. "Why you look....look,interesting" Caden said. "This is what happens when I'm sad. I hate feeling sad..." "Why are you sad?" asked Caden. "I said I'd never hurt you...why did you hurt me?" she asked sadly. "I had no choice...you are too dangerous to take a risk" said Caden. Serena looked at him coldly. He looked away and shivered.
The next day,
"So you guys worked it out? Again? Asked Gavin. "Yeah pretty much". Caden replied. He then remembered that Gavin broke up with Tara and Tara would be hurt. If she was hurt by someone that person would get hurt by Serena. "Shit" Caden whispered. "Gavin remember you broke up with Tara?" "Uh yeah so?" Gavin asked. He knew something was wrong. "Well I think Serena might try and hurt you again. Tara is her best friend" said Caden. Gavin gulped. "The fuck am I gonna do?" asked Gavin. "Stay with me for awhile" Caden said.
There days later,
"Ready for bed now?" Caden groaned. "Aw come on! Just one more show!" Gavin yelled. Caden sighed and plopped on the couch next to Gavin. "That chick is hot don't ya think?" asked Gavin. Caden shrugged. "Yeah sure". Gavin rolled his eyes and watched his show.
That night,
"Dude I can't sleep" Gavin said as he sat up. "What's the matter?" Caden asked. "It's just that I'm worried about Serena finding me. Im pretty sure I left Tara heartbroken but I mean this who I am and I told about that and she didn't care. It's her fault". "Man don't worry. I'll be here. I won't let her hurt you. Okay? I promise". Gavin smiled. "Thanks Bro. You know what? I ain't scared anymore". "Good".
As Caden rested his head on his pillow,he felt Gavin scoot closer to him. He smiled and rolled his eyes.
"You sure you don't want me to go after him?" asked Serena. "No don't. Okay? Besides it'll hurt you also" replied Tara. Serena's face turned confused. "What do you mean?" "I mean that Gavin is Caden's best friend. If you hurt Gavin,you hurt Caden". Serena bit her lips.
The next day
Serena saw Caden at the skateboard park with Gavin. "Hey Serena!" he yelled. She smiled and walked towards them. As she started talking to them, Serena turned around saw Tara with a hurt look. She turned her head back to Gavin's. Her eyes turned red. "Don't even think about it" said Caden as he grabbed Gavin's wrist. Serena suddenly snapped out of it. She saw Gavin's terrified face. She turned back to Tara who was laughing but as she looked at Caden's it was serious . He looked at her dead in the eyes. He looked at her so deep in the eyes she thought he could see her soul.
"Don't hurt him. I'm sorry for Tara but he doesn't deserve this. Hurt me...not him". Caden said slowly. Serena's eyes filled with tears. With a blink of an eye,she was gone.
When she got home,
She sat on her bed thinking about Tara and Caden. Both were important to her. Tara was her best friend for all of her life but Caden was willing to date her even though she had fangs with somebody's blood on it.
She hurt him so much but he still loved her. He saw the most terrifying things she had done but he was still there. Serena sighed. She knew who she had to choose.
