Meaning: Diamonds are beautiful and pure in themselves. Rhinestones are beautiful on the outside but impure and of course fake. The meaning is that it's hard to be the beautiful you (or be yourself) in a world full of fakes and people who aren't so beautiful on the inside or hide the beautiful true them on the inside instead of wearing it on their sleeves.
