Smells Like Teen Spirit. (Chapter 3)

It was officially Monday, meaning I had to go back to school. Ugh. I was heading down the stairs to the kitchen and told my Mom that I wasn't hungry. I went to the other room and sat on the couch and waited until I heard a car horn outside.
"Bye Mom" I called out as I left.
Becca, Taylor, and Carmen were already in Becca's convertible. I got into the back and we headed to school. When we got to school, all of us walked into school together and waited for first period to start. We all agreed to stop for ice cream before Becca took us home. Taylor couldn't come though because her boyfriend was picking her up after school. He was in college. Taylor was so lucky even though if her parents found out she would be killed. That left me, Becca, and Carmen to get ice cream after school. I wasn't a big fan of Carmen. When she wasn't hanging out with me,Taylor,and Becca, she was always with the preppy group. She is 1 of the most popular girls in school. At the end of the school day, I met up with Carmen and Becca at the convertible.
"I call shotgun!" I yelled.
"I call drivers seat!" Carmen yelled after me.
"Nope sorry honey, but I'm driving." Becca said.
"Aww your going to make me cry." Carmen whimpered.
I automatically laughed at that and soon so was everyone else. What seemed like forever to get going,we were finally at the ice cream shop.
"I'm paying." Becca said as soon as we got there. Becca's parents were rich so there was no problem with her spending money. Cash was just cash to them. "Ok, I want a vanilla cone with carmal." Carmen replied.
"And I want strawberry ice cream in a bowl. No toppings." I added.
"Ok I'll be back." Becca said.
That left just me and Carmen. We sat in awkward silence for several minutes before Carmen decided to talk.
"Listen, I know you think I'm some type of preppy girl but trust me I'm not. I don't act anything like them if you get to know me." Carmen said as she smiled.
"I'm sorry Carmen. I didn't mean to stereotype. I hope in the future we can be friends and besides if Becca is good friends with you than you must be pretty awesome." I said as I smiled back.
"What do you mean, I hope in the future we can be friends? We are already friends!" Carmen said beaming.
Before I got a chance to reply back, Becca came back with our ice cream. We all sat down at a table and enjoyed our cold treat.
"Ewwww, you got pistachio! Gross!" I said while looking at Becca's ice cream.
"Yeah, pistachio is my favorite flavor."
"Um..yeah that does look a little disgusting." Carmen added.
Becca ignored her and went back to eat her nasty pistachio ice cream. When we were all done, we threw away our trash and headed to our homes. Becca dropped Carmen off first. While Becca was heading to my house to drop me off she started talking.
"So, do you like Carmen now?" Becca asked.
"Yeah, she is nothing like I thought she was. We are actually friends. I never expected that we would ever be friends in a million years but we are." I smiled.
"That's good" Becca smiled back.
Becca stopped the car and I noticed that it was my stop. I said good bye to becca and headed inside. I went straight upstairs and got on my laptop and finished my homework. When I was done I went downstairs to help my Mom with dinner.
"Annie, I have decided to get a job." My Mom said after awhile of working on dinner.
"Wow, that's great mom! A great start too."
"Yeah, I won't be home until 6, so from now on I'm not going to be home when you get home from school."
"Ok, that's fine." I gave Mom a reassuring smile.
"You don't have to work on dinner anymore go upstairs and do something."
I ran up the stairs and jumped straight onto my bed when I got to my room. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and texted Becca.

I clicked on new contact on my phone and quickly put in Carmen and her number. Not long after that my mom called me down for dinner and I ate fast and went back upstairs and got in the shower and fell soundly asleep in my bed.
