- The Little Manor
I never liked planes, even though it was unlikely I'd die now I still didn't like the fact you were in the air, people are born to walk of solid ground, not fly through the air.
Once we were back on the ground I made sure I was the first one out of the aircraft. Erik came and stood next to me, "you don't like flying then?" I shook my head. "I heard your conversation with Sven. He honestly feels really bad, he didn't stop thinking about you the whole flight."
It turned out we had landed only a couple of minuets away from the Lessens Manor... And to my surprise it wasn't what I expected. It really was a manor house, I thought it was going to be some massive palace in the middle of Copenhagen. I thought wrong, it was a medium sized six bedroom house in the middle of nowhere. I smiled. Things started to feel a little less surreal.
Raine showed me the whole house, it may have been small but it was exquisitely decorated, the chandeliers were seventeenth century as well as the windows. It was beautiful. Then she showed me to the guest room. It was perfect. The silver wall paper and grey bedding looked very chic. Then the mirror, it was my favourite ornament in the whole house. It's antique frame was decorated with such fine detail it must've take forever to create.
I thanked Raine for the tour and placed my bag on the bed. My feet ached, it's not so easy walking around in six inch heels all day. I kicked off my shoes and jumped onto the bed, it was delightful! I was melting!
After unpacking I heard voices in the hallway. I guessed we were going downstairs. I slipped my shoes back on and made my way towards the kitchen.
All the family sat around a large oak table, I took a seat next to Josephine. She had changed into a pair of little red dungarees. She'd also plaited her air into two plaits, she looked much more her age now.
"I saw you liked your room. It's one of the loveliest in the house."
"Yes, it is beautiful." I started to ask Josephine about her life.
"So, how long have you lived with the Lessens?"
"Pretty much all my life, since I was about a year old. I was put into care as a baby, both my parents passed away."
I smiled and took her hand, "I'm sorry to hear that, do you remember them at all?"
"No, nothing but I know the lessens were always supposed to look after me if anything happened. I suppose you could say they were my god parents... And the whole vampire thing, I've decided I want to turn when I'm ready. It will be my choice."
Although I was confused, why anyone wouldn't want to live a normal life but we did have our advantages. Yeah sure, at first it was a little hard, knowing all the people you love are going to pass away in your life time but I suppose that wasn't a problem for Josephine... She didn't know any human life except her own."
Erik called me over, I sat down next to him on the small love seat. He put him arm around my shoulders. Was he trying the move, I giggled to myself.
"The others want to go feed soon. Are you hungry?"
"A little, I didn't drink much last night."
His reply was pleasantly surprising. "Well if you're not up for a killing I've got a couple of blood bags in my room. We can have our own little meal, also I need to talk to you about something. He rubbed his thumb across my shoulder. I liked that idea, I really did need to talk to him about earlier.
