"People won't even notice." Joni's fingers brushed across my eyebrow.
An unfortunate incident occurred a day or two before I was due to start a new school resulting in a split eyebrow and darkly shadowed eyelid.
"Why the fuck did this have to happen right now!" I shouted to anyone who cared. I felt the blood squeeze through my veins edging towards boiling point, I was getting more and more lost in my anger until Joni pushed me into my chair bringing me back into reality.
"Chill Lara, CHILL!" Her voice was stern.
Her hands loosened their grip on my shoulders as I took a couple of deep breaths, I got to my feet. Grabbing my school bag I reached inside for a lighter lit myself a joint and made my way out the front door.
